Patients A: My Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) was detected early. I was 21 and I kept getting headaches every day all day. I made a same day appointment and to my surprise my blood pressure was high. This worried me because we all hear the stories about the damage it can create. As I was leaving the doctor ran out to where I was and told me my protein levels where high and I needed to see a specialist.. I felt depression I didn't know what to expect. I thought it was a death sentence because everything I read and researched was so black and white. No hope of preventing further damage of reversing damage. With much prayer I released those fears and was determined to live my life no matter what the obstacles and this is why I can smile today.. it was so dark at one point I saw nothing but the worst but through my faith I have learned to live with this condition. I have bad days.
